Our Western Rally began on Friday with a meet & greet at the clubhouse. A warm welcome was given to our guest Barbara Johnson and our hosts; Rick & madeline Arick, Vern & Elfie Collins, and Darrell Christensen & Mary Lou Baker.
After a day out and about Saturday evening began with a cocktail hour followed by a pot luck ham dinner. The hosts provided the hame as well as a variety of pies for dessert. Some of our members spent the afternoons under the large live oak trees enjoying the wonderful weather and each others company. Others took to the roads to explore the surrounding countryside.
Sunday began with a host provided breakfast of scramble eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and those ever popular grits. The hosts also provided a different twist to our rallies later in the day with a wine & cheese party. The fine wine was selected and poured by our hosts. Members then ventured out to a local eatery.
Monday is famous for the nearby Webster Flea Market Day and most of our members took advantage of the rows and rows of items for sale. This was followed by an afternoon of rest and relaxation ahead of the gala Western hoedown that evening. The pot luck dinner included all you can eat fried chicken provided by the hosts. The evening affair ended with a Western attire contest members strutting or dancing down the center floor. The very attentive judges were; Tom & Jan Frost, Barbara Johnson, and Tom & JoAnn Giebner. The winners were Lucy Bancroft and Larry Carter, both of whom appeared like they came right off the Western plains.
A breakaway continental breakfast was held Tuesday with some of the members sharing their plans to attend the rally in Perry, GA or our own Lazy Days Rally.
